  • We safely wipe electronics and/or employ physical destruction methods in compliance with DoD & NIST standards. Upon request, Bruin can provide organizations a certificate of data destruction.

  • Jobs with requested data destruction comes with a certificate to prove all data has been securely wiped. Plus, our facility is secure, accessible only to trained staff. We are committed to secure data destruction and IT asset disposition (ITAD) that meets the highest standards.

    1. Schedule Pick Up. Submit a request through our online form or via phone call. Kindly include photos of items to be picked up. A Bruin specialist will be in touch shortly to confirm.

    2. Prepare Materials. Pack and stage surplus electronics in a loading area.

    3. Pick Up of Materials. Our truck arrives and Bruin handles the removal of e-waste.

    4. Recycle & Certify. Electronics are recycled responsibly and processed in full compliance with federal and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation-certified (NYS DEC-certified) regulations.

Process + Miscellaneous

  • All e-waste Bruin receives goes to our secure facility where trained staff sort equipment and destroy data.

    Materials are then processed by our Responsible Recycling (R2) Standard-certified (R2-certified) partners to ensure responsible recycling.

  • We accept various computers, appliances, and electronics like laptops, mobile phones, hard drives, SSDs, TVs, batteries, microwaves, sound systems, and more.

    We do not accept appliances containing freon, such as: air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, and wine coolers.

  • We do accept TVs. If dropping off or requesting pick up for more than one TV, please call ahead to ensure availability.

  • Unfortunately, we do not accept air conditioners, or any appliance that contains freon. Here are the materials we do not accept:

    • Appliances containing freon (e.g. air conditioners, refrigerators, wine coolers, dehumidifiers)

    • Compressors

    • Engines
